The world’s 6,000 languages are written in fewer than 100
alphabets, one third of which are in danger of extinction. Writer/carver/painter Tim Brookes, founded the
Endangered Alphabet Project as a way to draw attention to this issue and help
preserve these amazingly beautiful scripts and the vitally important cultural
diversity that they represent. Tim
Brookes is a graduate of Pembroke College Oxford and is now the director of the
Professional Writing Program at Champlain College. Please join us for this special Vermont
Humanities Council event!
