artist Robert Carsten in a fun and informative talk and
visual presentation exploring the origins, ideas and accomplishments of the
popular artistic movement Impressionism, and the lesser-known, but no less
influential subsequent movement, Expressionism. Both
revolutionary in their time periods, each profoundly changed and influenced the
course of art through the twentieth century, and continue to inform the art of
today. From enchanting heights of perception to
intense expression of feeling, the art in this visual presentation is bound to
leave a lasting impression of beauty and wonder.
A master pastelist in the Pastel Society of America, Robert
studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Accademia di Belle Arti in
Italy. Robert is a much
sought-after art workshop instructor, national art exhibition and awards juror,
demonstrator, and panelist whose gentle teaching style and genuine love for art
