The Neolithic WORLD of STONE: From Gobekli Tepe to Stonehenge

Thursday,  October  3rd
6:30  pm
In 1987, having obtained permission from authorities, art historian and artist, Bob Manning, stood alone in the center circle of Stonehenge and witnessed a spectacular sunrise.  In 2012 on a Smithsonian tour of Ancient Anatolia, he stood within the ancient stone circles of Gebekli Tepe in southern Turkey, which predate Stonehenge by 6,000 years.  Please join us as this retired Professor Emeritus of Fine Arts takes us on a fascinating and insightful tour,
unraveling the beauty and mystery of these ancient sites.
This Vermont Humanities Council program is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Springfield Town Library.
