The Springfield Town Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program was a great success! There were over 70 participants this year with eight lucky winners plus one Grand Prize winner! Raffle prizes included movie theater tickets to Springfield Cinemas 3, Day Passes to the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center, and chalkboard mugs filled with book marks, gift certificates and organic chocolate bars from the Springfield Food Co-op. In addition, the lucky Grand Prize Winner took home a one-month adult membership to the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center.
The library would like to thank all those who participated and the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center and Springfield Cinemas 3 for their generous in-kind donations. We would also like to recognize the Friends of the Springfield Town Library who made it all possible.

New Circulation Rules, Limits and Fines
As a founding member of the Catamount Library Network, the Library has adopted some new borrowing limits, loan periods and overdue fines. You'll still check out most items for 21 days, but DVDs &VHS Videos, Magazines, and many New Books will check out for only 14 days. Magazines and New Books can be renewed only once and Videos may not be renewed.
Fines for overdue materials will also increase, from .10 per day to .25 per day for adult items, and from .05 per day to .15 per day for children's items, effective August 19, 2013 Here are some tips for avoiding overdue fines:
· Provide us with an email address so you will receive a courtesy reminder before the due date.
· Use your online account to renew items and to choose how many days in advance you want your reminder.
· If you prefer, call or email us to renew materials.
· Use our BOOK RETURN if the library is closed. Items are backdated to the last open day.
· Enjoy the 3-day grace period, but BE AWARE! On the fourth day overdue, fines will be charged from the original due date.
· Better Yet — Return items on time!
The Library does not charge fines for days the library is closed.
