Adult Programs this Fall!

Discuss a popular book, take part in the Vermont READS program and learn more about Robert Frost, visit with a local author, learn about a great artist, find out how you can reduce Global Warming, join a lively short story discussion group, see and hear about the mystery of crop circles, watch a demonstration of acupuncture, and Take a Bite out of Poetry.

Our Adult Book Discussion group meets the second Wednesday of each month. On September 10th at 7 pm we will be discussing the New York Times bestseller, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. Pick up your copy today! Friday Morning Pageturners, a short story discussion group meets the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month from 10:30 - 11:30 am. Copies of the stories are available at the library. Play Scrabble on the 2nd and 4th Saturday this fall - drop in anytime between 11:00 am and 3 pm.

The Vermont READS program at the library features: Take a Bite Out of Poetry on Wednesday, September 15 at 6:30 pm. Share your worst vampire poem as we take a bite out of poetry and pizza. On Wednesday, September 17 at 7:00 pm Jim Schley, Executive Director of The Frost Place in Franconia, NH will present The Endurance of Robert Frost, for middle school ages and up. And on October 23 at 7:00 pm discuss the Vermont READS 2008 book by Natalie Bober, Robert Frost: A Restless Spirit. Copies of Bober's book are available at the library.

Art historian Bob Manning's slide presentation and lecture on Georgia O'Keefe promises to be both beautiful and informative on Saturday September 20, at 1:00 pm. Learn more about acupuncture and watch a live demonstration with Deb Sykes, licensed practitioner on Thursday October 2, at 7:00 pm and save the date on Thursday November 6 at 7:00 pm for an intriguing program titled, "The Mystery and Majesty of Crop Circles" with naturalist John Root.
